It is our mission at Chocology Kids to make learning fun and purposeful. There’s no better way to do that than to engage people in what we are doing and learning. Together, we all learn so much and make a big difference in the world!
This past week, we visited the kindergarten class that Madeline attended when she was young. Our purpose for the visit was to help kids learn about how they can make a difference in the world, even at the tender ages of 5 & 6.
Our service project was set up so that all of our 5 & 6 year olds would work together to create something special for our beloved Atria Senior Living community. All of the kids had fun creating their daffodil masterpieces, and knowing that it was going to both brighten and sweeten the day of a senior that they didn’t know made it extra special fun.
Next week, we will be delivering the kids projects to the seniors. We’ll also work with the seniors to make something to send back to the kids. What a fun and exciting way to bridge the gap between generations!
There are so many opportunities to teach our kids about volunteering and helping others–what are your favorite service projects for kids? Stay tuned next week to find out how the seniors react to the kids projects and how the kids react to the seniors projects. We can’t wait to find out ourselves!
